A Non-Portrait

Great Aunt Emma “Pem” – 1997

If my aunt had given me a grin, I think I would not like this so much. But her refusal here, gives a better sense of her – I think.

My aunt holds the record for being the most unintentionally blunt person I have ever met. She had no inner-monologue and a range of prejudices consistent with her age, but we were very fond of her.

I believe I took this with FP4+ using a Nikkormat and a 50mm f2 lens. How did I hold it steady? Younger hands I think. I like the tones on this – I believe I was using Aculux at the time.

Middle-aged white bloke. Wanders around with a camera (sometimes just his phone) taking pictures. Some he likes, most he doesn’t. Likes animals. Likes the seaside, not so sure he likes the sea.
