For health reasons, I am trying to make sure I take a solid walk every day. I recently found myself testing a new (to me) camera, so I thought I would combine the activities and see what came out of it. The camera is an Olympus E-450, which I believe is about 10 years old,Continue reading “Walking into Town”
I may have posted pictures of this tree before – perhaps in a different season. As I recollect it, I was sitting on a bench, when I thought the tree reminded me of a still life or perhaps a Chinese landscape painting. So I took a picture.
I think I have missed my morning walk once during lockdown. Yesterday, it was quite cool and misty early on – but by the time I went out for my walk, the Sun was up and throwing long, dark shadows. And there is a contrast with the morning mist, which is slowly being burned off.
Another sunset photo. I really like trees and the interesting shadows which they cast. In this case it is from the the sunset. Part of me want to crop this to square with the tree in the middle – but I haven’t. I wonder what the soundtrack might be.? As you can see, this anotherContinue reading “Shadow, West Sussex”
Today, I have been trying to photograph bees, which I thought would be an easy subject – but isn’t. Although they don’t require lengthy travel to locate, or require model releases, there are a number of challenges to be overcome. Firstly, they are quite small, so you need a close-up lens to be able toContinue reading “Bumblebee, West Sussex”
I found these dasies quite close to where I live, peeking out of the hedge. They remind me of childhood drawings of flowers, with pure whites and warm sun-yellows, which contrast nicely with the deep green of the hedge. I love looking at the details on the foreground daisy!
Like most people, my outdoor photography has been restricted by the lock-down. Which is why I have been posting pictures of things I’ve seen on my exercise walks. I could post things from the past – places I’ve been – but it feels irrelvant at the moment. This is a picture of some leaves onContinue reading “Leaves, West Sussex”
Because of restrictions, I find myself walking in the same places most of the time. Everytime I pass these two trees, they feel like a contrasting pair. Although it is early summer, as you can see with the dew on the grass, early in the morning, it is still cool.
This is another early morning picture, seemingly they only kind I take these days. Like many people, with the lockdown, lots of the things I do has changed. Prior to the last couple of posts, nearly all my photos came from dedicated cameras, mostly of places I have visited rather than near where I live.Continue reading “Another Tree in the Park”
