Trees in Fog, West Sussex

I think I have walked around the park every day since the first lockdown. Normally, in the noise of work and rush, the seasons tend to pass outside the window, but because we have all been at home I have been able to notice the changes in the weather as the seasons pass. As youContinue reading “Trees in Fog, West Sussex”

Morning Walk, Shoreham Beach

How do you feel about mornings? When I was a student, there were mornings when I didn’t get up until almost lunchtime and being particularly self-aware, I didn’t think this was particularly strange. Then I joined the working world and waking at 6 o’clock for a commute to work. Then in later years, rising atContinue reading “Morning Walk, Shoreham Beach”

Bullocks in the Morning, West Sussex

This field, is next to the parkland where I walk every morning. As you can see, it is used as pasture land. It is tempting to think of landscapes as unchanging, but there is quite a rapid turnover in livestock and I am sure that if I see them again next week, there will beContinue reading “Bullocks in the Morning, West Sussex”

Two Trees, West Sussex

I think I have missed my morning walk once during lockdown. Yesterday, it was quite cool and misty early on – but by the time I went out for my walk, the Sun was up and throwing long, dark shadows. And there is a contrast with the morning mist, which is slowly being burned off.

Leaves, West Sussex

Like most people, my outdoor photography has been restricted by the lock-down. Which is why I have been posting pictures of things I’ve seen on my exercise walks. I could post things from the past – places I’ve been – but it feels irrelvant at the moment. This is a picture of some leaves onContinue reading “Leaves, West Sussex”

Two Trees, West Sussex

Because of restrictions, I find myself walking in the same places most of the time. Everytime I pass these two trees, they feel like a contrasting pair. Although it is early summer, as you can see with the dew on the grass, early in the morning, it is still cool.

Red Leaves and Blue Sky

I’m trying to remember which philosopher it was who talked about the power of being able to see the world a-new. Right now, we are all quite restricted where we can go and I find myself trying to find a new view of familar places. This morning I was rewarded with a blue sky toContinue reading “Red Leaves and Blue Sky”

Another Walk in the Park

I saw this when I went for a walk a couple of days ago. It was about 6.30am. Sometimes I like to listen to something when I’m walking and sometimes I prefer silence. My favourite sound is the birds singing before sunrise (remember back to walking home after a night out).

Morning Walk, West Sussex

In the UK, we are in lockdown, which means we are all spending a lot more time at home. This picture is from my morning exercise walk through some park land near where I live. The whole situation at the moment is pretty difficult, but the weather has been beautiful.
